In a recent interview, Winnie Ntshaba shared her thoughts on the future of the Royalty Soapie Awards. She emphasized the importance of recognizing excellence in the soap opera industry and providing a platform for talented individuals to showcase their work.

Ntshaba’s vision for the awards is to not only celebrate the achievements of those in the industry but also to inspire the next generation of soap opera creators and performers.

One of the key aspects of Ntshaba’s vision is to promote diversity and inclusion within the soap opera community. She believes that by highlighting a wide range of voices and perspectives, the awards can help break down barriers and create a more inclusive industry. This approach is essential for ensuring that all talented individuals have the opportunity to succeed in the competitive world of soap operas.

Winnie Ntshaba is absolutely thrilled, and it’s not just because of the shiny awards! The Royalty Soapie Awards’ founder recently expressed her joy to Daily Sun, and her enthusiasm is truly infectious. “They’re honoring excellence in the soapie industry. I sat down and realized that soap operas are among the most-watched TV shows. We have an audience of 20 million viewers daily. It’s quite remarkable when you think about it, but we haven’t received the recognition we deserve,” she shared.

Winnie stressed the significance of acknowledging not only the actors but also the unsung heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make soap operas so captivating. “There are individuals who dedicate so much effort, especially the crew and those working behind the scenes. Therefore, I felt it was essential to celebrate their contributions as well. Recognition and appreciation are powerful motivators. When you receive acknowledgment, it drives you to push yourself even further,” she elaborated. After all, who doesn’t appreciate a pat on the back?

Discussing her long-term aspirations, Winnie Ntshaba disclosed, “It has always been my desire to provide financial rewards, not just trophies.” However, this ambition will have to be put on hold temporarily. “We are hopeful that brands, corporations, and the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture will support us financially,” she added. As the saying goes, good things come to those who are patient and diligent in securing sponsors.

The prestigious awards ceremony is scheduled for the 24th of August at the Hatfield Arena in Pretoria. “The nominees will be announced on the 24th of July, and it promises to be an exciting event. We are continuously expanding and striving to elevate the event each year,” Winnie revealed. “We also aim to commemorate 30 years of democracy.” So, grab your snacks and prepare for an evening filled with glamour, sophistication, and a touch of democracy!
