Musa Khawula, a well-known celebrity blogger, has found himself entangled in a legal battle after being arrested in connection with a fatal incident. The arrest occurred at the Vredenburg magistrate’s court, where he was formally charged with murder.
The incident in question took place on March 4, 2022, when Khawula allegedly confronted Wandile Khambule, his ex-boyfriend, outside Khambule’s home in Vredenburg. According to Sweetness Jaftha, Khambule’s girlfriend, Khawula demanded to speak to Khambule, but Khambule refused, citing a lack of romantic interest. The confrontation escalated rapidly, resulting in Khawula stabbing Khambule with a knife. Witnesses reported hearing cries for help as the tragic event unfolded.
Khawula’s legal troubles don’t end there. Damning allegations surfaced earlier when he accused Nozuko Mbalula (wife of ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula) and her business partner, Michelle Perrow, of bribery. Court documents revealed that Khawula was ordered to pay damages to the aggrieved parties and remove defamatory statements from his social media platform within 48 hours.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila confirmed Khawula’s arrest, and the murder case is now scheduled for judicial review on August 7, 2024.
