“I’m always looking for a bargain, so I couldn’t pass up the chance to pick up a great piece of clothing for such a low price,” said Samuels. “I love looking around second-hand stores and getting unique pieces of clothing.”

This isn’t the first time that Samuels has shopped at op-shops for her wardrobe. She is known for being thrifty when it comes to fashion and is often seen picking up clothing bargains.

“I’m passionate about fashion, but I try to stay within my budget,” said Samuels. “I don’t like spending too much money on clothes so second-hand stores offer me the perfect opportunity to find great pieces that I can wear for a fraction of the cost.”

A shop owner who sells the bum pads told the newspaper that the product was one of her easy sales.

“I can sell 30 or 40 of these daily, easily. And you can even choose how big you want your Matshidiso to be,” Esther of Sade’s Cosmetics told the newspaper.

Another business owner told the daily that the pads were made with the actress’ butt’s popularity in mind.

“They [manufacturers] knew many girls admire her bum on TV, so it was a great gap in the market they identified,” the owner commented to the paper.

Buhle Samuels was able to purchase her bums in the Johannesburg CBD for an affordable price of R150, proving that the city can be a cheaper place to shop than many would understand.
