Lerato attended Northland Girls High in Durban. Before enrolling at Witswaterstand University in Johannesburg to pursue film and television, she studied theatrical arts from eighth grade to twelve school.

Before moving to Durban General, Lerato made multiple television appearances. On Isthembiso and Madume, she played a supporting part. She also played a supporting role in the featured movie Trapped.

She also made appearances in television commercials, including the lead role in the 2019 Aero campaign and the lead role in the 2017 Edgars Women’s Day campaign. auditioned for the 2020 season of the television drama Durban Gen.She received a notification from her acting agency, Star Quality Management agency, which has offices in both Johannesburg and Durban, regarding the Durban Gen auditions.

During the lockout, she submitted a self-tape on Durban Gen, and she soon received a call inviting her to an audition. She had auditioned for the roles of Uzondo, Ubali, and others before being cast as Ndabezinhle Lithuli. She later left Durban Gen to play Mpumi Cele in the 1Magic drama Lingashoni.

Patrick Mofokeng, who plays his father Mr. Cele, is currently starring opposite the former Durban Gen Dr. Lithuli star.

She is reportedly dating a Swedish man, thus the actress is neither married nor divorced as of yet. But, it’s unknown how long they’ve been dating. Furthermore, it is unknown when and how the two met.
