This morning saw the start of the complete hearing for the petition disputing the outcome of the presidential election conducted on August 9.
Attorneys for one of the presidential candidates, Raila Odinga, are currently arguing their case in an effort to overturn William Ruto’s declaration of victory.
For six hours, they can present their case.
Later on in the day, Mr. Ruto’s attorneys as well as those for the election commission will appear before the seven-judge bench.
At the courthouse, a review and recount of votes from 15 polling places where the validity of the final total was questioned are also in progress.
Kenyans are closely watching the petition hearing that is being broadcast.
On September 5, the verdict is anticipated to be announced. (BBC)
