Due to illness, the owner of Ndozo Lodges, CHRINT SICHAMBA, and his co-accused did not enter a plea at the Economic and Financial Crimes Court.
The three are charged with corruption-related offenses totaling over 10 million US dollars and 781 million Kwacha.
Additionally, it is claimed that 140 properties thought to be the profits of crime were discovered in the accused’s hands.
Mr. SICHAMBA appeared before Lusaka Magistrate Court IRENE WISHIMANGA. He is accused together with his wife EUDORA NAMBELA and son DAVID SICHAMBA.
Three of them were supposed to enter a plea.
However, the defense attorneys brought up a preliminary issue and provided the court with a medical report stating that their first accuser, Mr. SICHAMBA, is unable to enter a plea.
According to the medical report, Mr. SICHAMBA is unable to understand what is being said, follow what is being said, or express himself verbally, the defense informed the court.
