Teenager from Mzansi arrested for strangling a 91-year-old woman to death

A young person from South Africa has been apprehended for the tragic act of strangulating a 91-year-old woman to her demise. The tragic incident unfolded in the Ncokazi locality on Friday, September 13. Captain Welile Matyolo, the spokesperson for the Eastern Cape police, revealed that the suspect allegedly broke into the victim’s residence around 2 am. Subsequently, he launched his attack on the elderly woman while she was sleeping in her bedroom. The perpetrator then proceeded to the second bedroom, where he assaulted the daughter of the deceased.

A struggle ensued between the attacker and the victim, leading to the suspect fleeing the scene. The daughter managed to seek help from neighbors, who then mobilized a search party and apprehended the perpetrator in the vicinity. Unfortunately, the elderly woman lost her life on the spot. The accused is set to make a court appearance at the Bhityi Magistrate’s Court on Monday, September 16, where he will face charges of murder and attempted murder.

This grievous event occurred in early August, resulting in the woman perishing at the scene.
